What is an online doctor visit?
An online doctor visit (also called a telehealth visit) connects you with a licensed physician through a video or text-based appointment on your phone or computer. The doctor reviews your symptoms, asks questions, and if appropriate, sends a prescription directly to a pharmacy. Through QuickCare, that pharmacy is us — so your prescription is already being filled while you finish the appointment.
What conditions can be treated?
Online visits work well for a wide range of common conditions including sinus infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), cold and flu symptoms, allergies, skin rashes, ear infections, pink eye, migraines, and more. If the doctor determines your condition needs an in-person evaluation, they will tell you — but most routine illnesses can be handled entirely online.
How fast is the process?
Most patients complete their online visit within 15 to 30 minutes. Once the doctor sends the prescription to Fenkell Rx Pharmacy, we typically have it ready within one to two hours. If you need it delivered, our free same-day delivery covers Northwest Detroit, Redford Township, and Southfield.
Does insurance cover the online visit?
Many insurance plans now cover telehealth at the same rate as in-person visits, particularly since 2020. The prescription itself is billed through your normal pharmacy insurance — your copay is the same as any other prescription. We recommend checking your specific plan for the telehealth visit cost.
